I’m writing this as a follow up to my previous thread. After several weeks of playing under the 2IP limit and the 120 second re-entry timer, the concerns i raised previously have become a reality. We are currently losing players as their subs ran out yesterday, and have no intentions to renew because the rules and PK has become unsustainable.

Is this current setup a permanent fixture or an experiment? Many of us want to keep investing time here, but we need clarification,   

On Rev1, N0m tried every restriction in the book: 1IP and 2IP wild, teleporting players to spawn upon logout, and even capping how many people could cast on one target. These ideas had "poll support," but in practice, they were a disaster for wild.
The result back then? A dead wild. The casual players who voted for the rules were nowhere to be found, and the active PKers left for other servers. It was such a massive failure that n0m had to revert everything and promised never to touch wild again.

Just as we wouldn't want PKers dictating how skillers spend their time, skillers shouldn't be the deciding factor in how the wild rules. If you want a healthy server, you listen to the people who actually use the content, not the 90% who just watch from the sidelines and it not effected by the rules.


The current issues:

When you take the time it takes to stop training, move your characters, and then wait out the re-entry timers, it’s simply not worth leaving a training spot to go try find the pk which is already dead by the time you get there. Many players myself included at times, are choosing to stay at a training spot and keep training instead of bothering with a 2minute fight. If the goal was to increase activity, these restrictions have done the exact opposite. We need an unrestricted zone where the action is sustainable.

- The "hit and run": Most fights now last only 2 minutes before the action dies completely.
- The timer: Between the 120 second block and the time it takes to bank (with no edge altar on top), players are out of the wilderness for 3+ minutes. This effectively kills any momentum or "war" potential.

Solution:
We brought the RSC community together for a "last hurrah" but 40–50 dedicated PKers are now unhappy. We don’t want to see this wilderness fail. We are asking for a compromise: Indentical wilderness. The players that is not for multi, have their own wilderness and the hardcore pkers have their own, this way are not losing any players to the current rules.

Make it so you can only skull on 2 characters in wild. But can have up to 5 characters in wild like someone suggested earlier. In a case where someone attacks your trainer you have ability to defend yourself for a set time.
This would solve the problem of not having to log out of wild on characters you are training while still not being able to abuse multi characters in pk.

The 2 ip was meant for pking. Not to punish everyone training in wild.

There was promise of trying to enforce the current rules in the recent news post.
That combined with the first subs running out and people maybe now focusing on pk instead of afk training (not everyone renewed their subs) we should maybe give it a week to see how things shake up?

If things don't change on the server naturally then we probably do need some kind of external shakeup.
One potential thing to try could be adding 3 one-way teleports in Lumbridge; one near ice warriors, one near the members gate and one near greaters. Having 60-120 seconds cooldown on PVP death and 5mins on PVM death would prevent the clear abuse cases but allows it to work as a way to return quickly in the "wars" at deep wild

As someone who voted for 2ip....revert the changes and make it so you can only be skulled on two characters.

This is a tough one. The 2ip was meant for pking and I can understand it for that,but this is effecting training and also reducing pking because of the timer.

The logout timer and timer to re enter wild at 120 is absolutely too long. It is such a pain. At minimum it should he greatly reduced.

I would like to see another specific vote for wilderness. Could 3ip work? Is that a better compromise, or you can only have 2 skulled characters?

What are the options that we could have for a vote.

Limit some area in wild for these 2ip guys so they can have their 2v2 battles and keep rest of it 1ip.

Members wild should be 1ip imo.

Clarification on what exactly? You guys are the same 4-5 guys crying for 5ip so you can multi everyone else who only plays casually. They should make a 5ip arena and let u fight yourselves 5v5, the majority don't want to get stomped by 2 guys using 10 accounts, and voted accordingly. You did this  on every other server and it's only you guys in wild anymore.

Ive tried the server, but its way to inefficient pk wise for it to be sustainble. remove all the rules in wilderness and increase death runes by selling them in general store for 150gp each. Theyre consumables and will just dissapear with fire blasts so theyll work as a moneysink

Alot more casual players would probably join in pking if this stuff wasn't going on. Every server is like this. Most players have families or jobs or other responsibilities and just can't dedicate that much attention or time to it to be able to multi-log 5 accounts.

I like the idea of a PK Arena with unlimited IP Access - Rest of Wildy should be 1ip. You shouldn't be able to park multiple characters in the wildy for boosted xp, combat or skilling. That's literally the reason this game always breaks so fast. Too many bakers making too much bread makes bread worthless.

Everybody always gets so good so fast and floods the game with high level stuff. Then mods gotta introduce non-official stuff to try to keep the server interesting, but after a while it ends up looking nothing like RSC at all.


Also - Bring back low level mage pking people!
