Keep the economy from Hyper-Inflation/breaking - Make P2P actually P2P

Keep P2P on a separate "world" and keep it behind a paywall. Make it require either a special P2P sub which you can purchase via irl money, or a large chunk of in-game GP (raise the price sporadically as inflation rises).

If you make the irl price of the Sub pretty high, then people will be more apt to spend in-game GP. Make it a per-character Sub. Just like original RSC. This is probably the most significant way to pull GP out of the game and keep the economy stable. Starting out - it will help fund the server and the work that goes into it. As time goes on and people shift to using GP to purchase their P2P subs, it will be a massive Gold Sink, especially if there are sporadic raises in cost. You could coincide that with a low starting cost of IRL money which increases a little bit quicker than the GP cost in order to steer users toward GP usage.

Just like in the original game, players could log onto either P2P worlds or F2P worlds, but on F2P worlds, none of the Members functionality or items would be turned on.

Seems like something nobody has tried in the past and may end up keeping things balanced for a longer period of time.

incredible. he took the worst idea ive ever seen for a game and community this size (multiple worlds) and somehow made it even worse. i actually cant believe it.

more money sinks are good and needed (and available) and spicing up p2p/f2p is an idea so I actually agree with the intentions, just abysmal execution. this is how you get to double digit player count if you wanna speedrun it

People are already paying real money for this game. They could go to any other private server to get free Members content. So obviously there's a draw to stay here. Probably for multiple reasons, including keeping this server close to original.

Also, the obvious push is to have a majority of the player base using the P2P world. The separate world is essentially a way to gate keep the content so people are forced to pay for it. They're already paying to play this game for a F2P experience. Which in itself is absolutely wild. Now - the point in raising the actual real life cost over time is to force people to sink massive amounts of GP into it. Which would balance the economy.

I mean, imagine if people with 5 stakers were forced to pay 5m GP a month in order to use them all. Or guys who want 5ip's in the wildy, they can have that, but for the cost of 5m a month gp. Its a way to keep these activities more balanced, keep the economy balanced, and since everyone is already paying money to play the game, why not just put the good content behind the paywall so that they will pay for it? I mean, most users are already buying subs so they can increase exp rates. They obviously see value in this server otherwise they wouldn't spend money here. Point some of the money spending toward the bigger experience. If they're here already they aren't going to leave or they already would have. Who sticks around and spends money on F2P content you can get on 50 different servers?  Allow people to purchase their way in or spend their way in. Its a pretty easy concept.

Ultimately, This game is built to burn itself out by design. There's no way to stop it. Eventually every server hits maturity/hyper inflation, especially one that is aiming to stay true to the original experience. With increased exp rates and QOL improvements that process is only  up. Why not try something different instead of doing the same song and dance that has been done by 20 other private servers over the past 7 years?

This is flawed logic. Everyone has a limit.
I would absolutely leave if I had to pay 5m gp a month for P2P content. I am also not willing to spend more than the current $15 a month I am paying now.

Yeah I mean I get it - but those aren't hard numbers - they are just examples. Obviously it would need to be a price that is realistic and fair.

And yeah, people have a limit. But people are also already paying for something that they can get for free elsewhere. So obviously there's a draw to keep people here already right? People like the server and already choose to invest in it.
