I know that RSCRv1 did have runecrafting implemented and I do feel it could be implemented in V2 without damaging the spirit of RSC. One way this could be done is by keeping EXP rates lower than the other skills (1x free, 1.5x gold, 2x plat for example) and ensuring we have to mine all essence. I am unsure about the sentiment of runecrafting in RSCRV1 as I never got too into the discussion of what's classic and what isn't, but how do people feel about having RC in RSCRV2?

Not a fan of this idea, I think the spirit of rev2 is to bring back the community of people that left because they did not appreciate the additional skills and items added to the game and wanted a more authentic classic experience.

Increased exp rates and QOL things like auto walk and better banking features (banking which jagex themselves added in 09 to the live classic servers) are fine and for the most part appreciated. Adding in a bunch of ways to devalue item values and resource values and change the actual landscape and makeup of the game is what drove many, myself included away.

This is a good development team, and they're good at what they do. But adding in a bunch of stuff although may show off the skill set they have, doesn't resonate with people who played this game growing up, and loved it for what it was and chose not to invest in the things that the game became over the decades.

I feel there are ways to implement new things without completely destroying the game. But I feel those sorts of things should be reserved mostly for combat related activities to expand upon that aspect of the game, and particularly in the wilderness or at least traversal through the wilderness to get there to encourage activity there and risk vs reward. But I am but one humble lonesome opinion.

Adding things to the game is a slippery slope, and quite frankly this secondary server exists purely because of things like this in the first place.

Understandable. Would you feel adding or increasing rune drops would be a better solution overall? I'm not saying have wizards drop say 100 chaos in one go, but increasing the frequency at which they drop and also adding it to the drop table of more mobs so that magic can be trained at a reasonable level. And as you said, add wilderness drops so that risk/reward comes into play.

I merely suggested adding runecrafting because I don't feel this skill is necessarily counter to the idea of RSC (even if the skill never existed there in the first place) unlike other things that were added in V1 that felt too out of place. Ideally, you'll want to strike a sort of balance because there's really people out there that believe the server should be 100% pure and not include ANYTHING RS2 related at all and will just shut down any discussions of anything extra.

Runecrafting is such a boring skill. I'd rather rune rates be increased instead from npc drops.

Yep, if there's not enough runes I'd rather multiply monster loot and make them worth more instead of less by adding another afk/autowalk/multi skill.
